And in the car industry, Chrysler and GM, have done very well in many years, and Ford still continued to do well with their Taurus and Explorer models. But Japanese companies started to take over the America car industries with, Honda, Nissan, and Toyota.
Also during the 1990’s NASA sent up the Hubble telescope into orbit with the ISS or International Space Station, and one of the biggest comments on the record, the Hale-Bopp Comet passed by earth in 1997 for the first time in 4,200 years.
Another thing to add is that the GPS (Global Positioning System) was finally set up because there were finally enough satellites in orbit.
Then in 1999, the Sears Tower, which was the tallest building at the time got beaten by the new tallest tower called the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, this was the tallest tower until 2004.
The 1990’s was also a good time for pop music, with singers like Mariah Carey, The Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, and many others, but pop music wasn’t the only thing on the rise, but country music was also on a rise, due to singers like Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, and George Strait.
Then the style for the 90’s isn’t my favorite styles with the Rachel Cuts for women and the curtained hair for men, and many of the fashion began by someone watching actors were wearing in movies and TV shows, in fact, the Rachel cut was inspired by a character called Rachel in the sitcom Friends.
Movies and TV shows were a big thing during the 90’s with movies like Jurassic Park, Titanic, and the Lion King were big hits, and won many awards and still very known and praised today.
Then TV shows during the 90’s Sitcoms did exceptionally well, like Friends, Seinfeld, The Cosby Show, and Everyone Loves Raymond did very well during the 90’s and are still played on TV today.
Y2K, was something very odd that happened during the 90’s, it was a conspiracy that all electronics that had dates wouldn’t change from 1999 to 2000, and they were afraid that it would be too much for the computer to handle, which would have led to the computers and all electronics to shut down.
But most companies had already set the code so that the dates would change from 1999 to 2000.
